Mousa Parnian, Khalil Beygzadeh, Ali Safizadeh(Author in Charge)
Abstract
Simile is one of the imagery species in two historic and
heroic sections of shahname measured by Ferdowsi’s from different angles such
as: point of similarity, instruments simile, all kinds of similes, complexity,
sensibility and rationality simile and singular and compound simile; and for
purposes of explaining epic techniques and semantic effects of Shahnameh,
exaggeration is its most important part, is used in his epic work. Accordingly,
the present research has studied, analyzed, compared and explained the using
techniques of simile species, their frequency and Ferdowsi’s attitude in
similes in a descriptive- analytical approach. The innovative point of
similarity, renewing techniques of simile, innovation and creativity in
bringing new themes are main items that Ferdowsi processed them in detail in
Shahnameh and used for stating his purpose. In the sight of simile diversity,
about (14%) of Ferdosi’s simile are duplicate and similar and his tendency is
toward tangible to tangible simile with frequency of (89%) in heroic and (84%)
in historic sections and has less tendency toward reasonable to reasonable
similes that is less that (0/005%) in historic and heroic sections. Also“human
qualities”contain the most similes of Shahname, with frequency of (66%) in
heroic and (53.5%) in historic sections and “nature” has the most frequency,
about (45%) in heroic and (43.6%) in historic sections
